Recognising its historic foundation in accordance with its vision:

 

The Academy will preserve and develop its character in accordance with its principles in partnership with schools and parents. The Academy aims to serve those of African Heritage by providing an education of the highest quality within the context to create a culture that values education as the first step to addressing educational inequality. It also challenges circumstances that have a strong commitment to seeing all pupils do their best and making sure all pupils get an equal chance.

To underpin this ethos statement the Academy aims to:

• Create a happy and secure environment where the child can develop to its full potential

• Help pupils become self-motivated and independent individuals with an enthusiasm for lifelong learning

• Provide a challenging curriculum that is broad, balanced and appropriate to the needs of the child​

• Promote sound spiritual, moral, social and cultural values that prepare the child for responsibilities, experiences and   opportunities throughout life

• Foster a positive partnership with parents, staff, governors and the community
