Safeguarding

We adopt a three commitment approach to keeping our students safe.

Commitment One: Prevention

1. The Academy has a positive ethos that offers support and guidance

2. Policies and procedures are in place to support the students

3. All our staff fulfil statutory requirement and undergo an enhanced enclosure by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB)

4. Volunteers do not work unsupervised

5. Curriculum opportunities give students the skills they need to keep safe

Commitment Two: Protection

1. The environment is secure

2. All staff are fully trained to deal with safeguarding and Child Protection issues

3. An anti-bullying campaign was launched in September to include all students

Commitment Three: Support

1. All our students will receive the guidance and support of a Tutor

2. Parents are encouraged to see themselves as equal partners and seek advice and support from members of the school community.

The Academy has three Senior Designated Persons (DSP) to promote safeguarding and students well being.

They are: Ian Grayling, Albey Law-Smith and Terry Harrison
