Student Support

Every student is helped to develop to their maximum potential. Work is monitored carefully and extra help given where necessary. All students are placed in tutor groups and their pastoral needs are looked after by their Tutors. There is no doubt that our success rates of getting students into higher education are the result of outstanding relationships between students and teachers. The wealth of activities on offer, often in the evenings and at weekends, enable students to develop their interests and skills. The Academy does not aim to produce a type, but rather a well-rounded individual who shows both a determination to do well and courtesy and consideration for others.

Academic Learning Support

We aim to help students skills so that they can learn more effectively  The range of help includes study skills, writing skills, time management and revision and examination techniques. A range of workshop are held throughout the year on study skills related topics.

 

Pastoral Support

This support may include emotional  and practical support, liaison with e external agencies, advice and advocacy with all aspects of higher education life and/or regular mentoring sessions.
